 Very poorly made purse September 6, 2010

I bought this purse for my wife. Based on the description, we expected it to be a roomy, well-made purse. Well, it was pretty roomy, but probably not big enough for a denim jacket and other things, as described by another reviewer. It was able to hold a pint water bottle, along with typical purse contents. The "cell-phone" pocket didn't work to hold her cell, but no problem, she put something else in that pocket only to discover that the zipper on that pocket doesn't stay up. Within a month of starting to use it, she noticed that the straps were starting to come loose from the bag at the top. Then, a couple of weeks later, the loop handle started to do the same. After less than 6 weeks of use, the purse has been discarded. The purse also had a bad odor, as mentioned in several other reviews. Luckily, that did dissipate after a few days.

Having bought another similar bag for about the same price on Amazon, I was a little leery of this one at first. I agree with some other reviewers that the bag does possess a rather pungent odor right out of the box; but that dissipated within a couple of days for me. That being said, I love this bag! The welts along the edges keep the bag upright and open when I am scrounging for items... and it DOES hold a lot for its size. I have a LG Ally phone, rather chunky and large, and it fits perfectly in the pocket on the side. Inside, there is a smaller pocket I think some reviewers try to use for a phone, but it is definitely too small for that. I use it to hold sunglasses or my iPod Nano; which it is just right for. The only negative I have with it is that where the zipper that combines the straps into a single sling strap meet the leather, I have noticed a little bit of wear-through. It is only a small spot, and easily "nipped-in-the-bud" with a quick dab of hot glue or other adhesive. I don't think it would have grown any bigger anyway. Overall... for the money this is a wonderful bag!

The bag does look great in the pictures. It is very roomy yet compact. It took over a month for the overwhelming smell to go away. It stunk up closets that I put it in. I kept a positive outlook though since the bag looked so nice. However, within weeks, the handle started to fray. It got so bad that my mother-in-law said, "It looks like it's time for you to get a new bag" a month after I started using it. Bottom line: You get what you pay for.

I needed a backpack purse to carry my everyday things in, so that I can have my hands free to take care of my 2 1/2 year old (getting him in and out of the car, shopping baskets, etc.). After reading the reviews, I decided to buy this purse. The great reviews were right! This backpack purse is awesome! It's just the right size to carry everyday necessities, and has lots of zippered pockets to keep you organized and save you time. I bought another backpack purse a few weeks ago, and it is like digging through a bottomless pit! I highly recommend this purse. I hope that this backpack purse will be available again...very soon!

The purse has straps that can be used over both shoulders like a backpack so hands are free while shopping and the purse doesn't fall off the shoulder. The only downside was that the leather had a very strong leather smell. Aired out the purse before I could use. The leather is very soft and nice.
