Excellent concept. Good quality May 4, 2010 Garvin 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The layout of this wallet is great. For me, it is the right number of pockets for all my necessary credit cards/debit cards/memberships (3), and another stow-away pocket for other cards that I don't use too much. The clear pocket is for ID, and the larger pocket in the middle is perfect for dollar bills and other items. Because the wallet doesn't have too many pockets, it forces the me to keep things lean and organized (this is a good thing!). The quality of the wallet is OK ... nothing crazy, but the layout is great. I would buy this again.
As advertised April 30, 2010 Roby (NYC) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just as advertised..One thing though- if you'll be carrying lots and lots of money- this is not for you..
perfect design April 23, 2010 xt (Lexington, KY) love this thing. very slim, smartly designed with the see-through ID pocket and the finger slot for quick removal. and JUST ENOUGH capacity
you can carry 8 hard cards, 10 business cards, and a bunch of paper bills and receipts with no problem. more than anyone really need. for example i have:
clear pocket: license, medical card, bus card; 3 pockets: visa, mc, amex; slip pocket: bank card, flyer card, airport lounge card, 10 biz cards; pouch: money and receipts
my first wallet wore out in about 1.5 years... the costant retrieval and insertion of the card word down at the edges and seams. for 20$ this was a lot of value and i prompty bought another one. i really would place the value on this product at 50$ - how much i *would* be willing for it. nice item.
Works well as a not-so-thin wallet. March 17, 2010 Joseph Chiu (Los Angeles) I reluctantly retired my beloved Victorinox "Civilian" wallet after about 6 years. The Civilian was a "weekend wallet" - designed to carry a few cards and some cash. I used it to force myself from developing the fat-wallet syndrome.
Looking for another thin wallet, I ultimately picked out the Dopp Regatta 88.
Compared to the old thin wallet, this has more compartments, probably double the card carrying capacity, and is a bit thicker whe empty. Because of this increased capacity, I have been carrying much more cards than I used -- that's the one draw back for me -- but we're talking 3/4" thick at the max. I've seen guys with mega-wallets at 1-1/2"... The Dopp definitely won't go that far!
The wallet is well made, and the leather feels nice. After a few months of use, the leather has stretched and settled to its final shape, and I still like it. This one is a keeper for me.
Thin, functional, and fairly sturdy January 26, 2010 Wesley A. Andrews 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've used this wallet every day for 7-8 months, and I haven't experienced any problems with its sturdiness. If it is kept in one's front pocket and not overloaded with cards and such, the wallet holds up very well.
If you find yourself uncomfortable while sitting on a thick wallet, I highly recommend switching to a thin, front-pocket alternative like the Dopp Regatta. Before I bought this, I would consistently take my wallet out to sit down, which became problematic as I became prone to losing it. I also recommend this to people who have difficulty simplifying the content of their wallets; the Dopp Regatta is thick enough to feel in one's pocket, and it has all the storage you really need. Mine easily holds two ID cards, three credit/debit cards, four business cards, cash, etc.
